The restaurant is located in the courtyard which was an extension of a big Venetian building and was used for gardening and as a horse stable. The building was destroyed during the Ottoman rule, except from the courtyard and the exterior wall, where, during their restoration, The Well, the big stone trough as well as a Lion Head were found, that date in the Venetian rule of Crete and are decorating the restaurant today.
From 2003 until today, the courtyard is being utilized as a restaurant, earning within a few years its place amongst the top 10 best restaurants of Crete by the international tourist guide Rough Guide.
The restaurant has participated in three contests of Traditional Cretan Cuisine in the last three years and has won twice the golden and once the silver medal.
